Q: What attracted you to working at Secomak?
A: The challenge it brings to work within a new industry, developing my engineering & sales skills in a dynamic company. I enjoy seeing the food and beverage industry from the inside and seeing how the world is developing with new engineering ideas and methods. The site visits to multiple breweries aren’t bad either.
Q: In the past three months, what has been the most memorable moment?
A: There have been a few, from exhibiting at Drinktec in Munich on my second full week and getting to experience my first schweinshaxe, to flying in and out of Prague within 48hrs to help with a commissioning and testing on a new drying system for Coca Cola (annoyingly too busy to sample the local drop), but most important is being top of the company’s fantasy football league before I had started working here and continuing to be top now. Oh and catching covid on my first day..
Q: What do you see as your biggest challenge in Secomak over the next 12 months (other than working for Anthony?)
A: Working with Ashley. No, but working with a southern United fan is painful.
I think the hardest challenge for me will be learning the electrical side of the business after spending my career so far in mechanical engineering roles.
Q: Aside from long walks on the beach and candle-lit dinners, what do you do for fun?
A: I enjoy drinking red wine while attempting to cook, festivals & live music, road cycling (which I really need to get back into), watching Arsenal and of course the occasional Stella. Very generic!
Q: If you were on Come Dine With Me what would your menu choice be?
A: Starter: Gambas Pil Pil
Main: Pistachio crusted lamb rack with roasted vegetables
Dessert: STP (sticky toffee pudding)
